Justin Sun moves $244.9 million in Ethereum to HTX on Christmas Eve

Justin Sun, the founder of Tron, transferred 70,182 Ethereum, valued at $244.9 million, to HTX on Christmas Eve. The transfer, reported by Spot On Chain, included 42,905 ETH unstaked from Lido Finance, a decentralized staking protocol, along with 27,277 ETH from Etherfi. This move brought Sun’s total deposits to HTX (formerly Huobi) to 179,101 ETH, worth $645 million, with an average price of $3,601 per ETH.

Earlier, on December 23, Sun redeemed 39,999 ETH worth $143 million from Lido Finance and Etherfi and deposited the entire amount into HTX. This raised his total deposits to HTX since November 10 to 108,919 ETH, valued at $400 million at an average price of $3,674 per ETH. The remaining 42,904 ETH, worth around $139 million, was still in the unstaking process at Lido Finance but was eventually completed in the Christmas Eve transaction.

Sun’s strategy includes withdrawing significant amounts from Lido Finance for planned purchases. He also previously transferred 52,905 ETH valued at $209 million on December 16 as part of a larger plan to acquire 392,474 ETH between February and August at an average price of $3,027 per ETH.
